For the purposes of this policy the following terms have the meanings below, regardless of whether they appear in singular or plural form.
chrome.storage.local, the browser's built-in key-value store for extension settings.Enable Copy Paste Everywhere | Gecko does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on the Company's servers. There are no analytics, telemetry, tracking pixels, crash reporters, or usage-reporting mechanisms built into the Extension. The Extension makes no network requests of any kind - it does not contact the Company, any AI provider, or any third-party server. The Company has no back-end server that receives data from the Extension.
Specifically, we never collect:
input[type="password"] elements from its restoration rules). The Extension stores the following settings in your browser using chrome.storage.local. This storage is local to your browser profile on this device. The Company has no access to this data, and it is never synced to any server operated by the Company.
| Data item | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| enabled (true/false) |
Remembers whether the Extension's restoration behavior is turned on. | Until you change the setting or uninstall the Extension. |
| aggressive (true/false) |
Remembers whether "aggressive restore" mode is enabled, which additionally targets focus traps, paste-revert traps, disabled/readonly text fields, local overlays, and open shadow roots. | Until you change the setting or uninstall the Extension. |
| disabledHosts (list of hostnames) |
Stores the hostnames of sites where you have chosen to turn the Extension off, so your preference is remembered on your next visit. | Until you re-enable the site or uninstall the Extension. |
No other data is written to chrome.storage.local, local storage, IndexedDB, cookies, or any other persistent store. No page content, form data, or clipboard contents are ever written to storage.
To do its job, the Extension's content scripts run directly on each web page to detect and neutralize scripts that block copying, pasting, selecting, or right-clicking, and to restore normal focus and input behavior. This processing happens entirely in your browser's memory, on the page you are viewing. Nothing observed or intercepted during this process is recorded, logged, or sent anywhere - it exists only for the instant needed to let the browser's native behavior through, and is discarded immediately.
The Extension does not share any data with third parties because it does not transmit any data anywhere. It contains no code that makes network requests, and no third-party libraries, SDKs, or services are embedded in the Extension.
No data is shared with any third party. The Company does not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your data to advertisers, analytics providers, data brokers, or any other entity.
| Permission | Why it is required |

storage |
Saves your settings (enabled/disabled state, aggressive-restore mode, per-site exceptions) in the browser's local extension storage as described in Section 3. |
activeTab |
Reads the current tab's URL only when you open the popup, so the popup can show and let you toggle the on/off state for that specific site. |
| Host permissions (all URLs) | The Extension's core purpose is to restore copy/paste/selection behavior on any website that blocks it, which by definition can be any site you visit. Broad host permissions let the content scripts run on whichever page you're viewing so the restoration rules and CSS can take effect there. No content from these pages is read into extension storage or transmitted off your device. |
chrome.storage.local on your device and are never transmitted anywhere.Because all data is stored locally in your browser, you are in full control of retention. Stored settings (enabled state, aggressive-restore preference, per-site exceptions) can be deleted at any time by:
The Company holds no copy of your data and therefore cannot be requested to delete it on your behalf, as none is ever received.
Extension settings are stored using the browser's built-in chrome.storage.local API, which is sandboxed to your browser profile on your device. Because the Extension makes no network requests and the Company does not operate any server that receives data from the Extension, there is no Company-side database that could be breached.
Because the Company does not collect or store personal data on its own servers, most standard data-subject rights (access, correction, portability, erasure) are exercised directly through your browser's extension storage controls described in Section 7.
